Join us in supporting awareness of Ovarian Cancer!

Ovarian Cancer Awareness

We are building a TEAM to walk this year in support of education and awareness of Ovarian Cancer.  The purpose for our walk with COCA and building a team for the Jodi’s Race Event on June 8th 2019, is to spread awareness to others about Ovarian Cancer, it’s symptoms and encourage self advocacy, while walking in loving memory of those who this disease has taken from us way to soon.

As a survivor of this terrible disease, our founder is on the mission to support others in their journey.

Connect with us on Facebook to learn how you can support this mission!

#HiretheExpert – What to Look for in a Social Media Speaker

There are a number of reasons you might want to hire a social media speaker. Perhaps you’re hosting an event where you need a keynote. Maybe you want to bring in an expert to breathe new life into your social media effort. No matter your reasons, there are a few things you should look at when you hire a social media speaker:

  • How in-depth is their social media knowledge?
There are many speakers available who advertise expertise in social media. But just how deep is that experience? There are ways to find out. First, check out their pages. Do they strike you as someone who knows what he or she is doing? Have they actually worked as a social media expert or are they primarily a speaker?
  • What are their speaking credentials?
It is not uncommon for subject matter experts to supplement their work with speaking engagements. That is a perfectly reasonable thing to do, but you want to make sure he or she is an engaging speaker as well as a proven expert at social media. How much speaking experience do they have and in what type of environment?
  • What is the focus of their social media presentations?
If the purpose of the engagement is to offer training, perhaps a humorist is not the way to go. On the other hand, a conference keynote will have a distinctly different flavor than a training session. Are you looking for motivational/inspirational, one on one interaction, or an in-depth training?
  • Do they understand your goal?
No matter who you hire for your speaking engagement, he or she should be fully aware of your goals and be able to craft a presentation that accomplishes those goals. How much time will they be willing to spend with you to make sure that you are in alignment? How will you ensure that they are on the right track?
  • How satisfied were their previous clients?
A reputable speaker will be happy to provide you with references and background material. They may also have recordings of previous presentations available for you to watch online.

With a little homework, you can be sure that your social media speaker is the right fit for what you have in mind. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, talk to references, and review their social media – the extra time is worth it!

#LearnSocialMedia – Hot Topics for Social Media Workshops for 2019

If you use social media then you know it’s an ever-changing challenge. Both you and your team need to stay up to date on what works and what the trends are. One great way to do that is to hold regular workshops where you and the other members of your company who use social media can exchange ideas and information.

Here are five hot workshop topics that can help you make the most of social media.

Building Relationships

Social media is all about establishing relationships and cultivating them. The trouble is, managing those relationships isn’t always easy. It takes authenticity, timeliness, and a great deal of attention. Like all talents, maintaining that type of interaction is easier for some people than it is for others. Luckily, the skills that are needed to do just that can be learned.

Storytelling

A big temptation when using social media is to try to tell people what they want to hear. Today’s social media users, however, are savvy and can spot inauthentic content immediately. When you tell stories, you have to dig a little deeper, so your content is more likely to ring true. The fact is, being an effective storyteller can be hard.

Generating Leads

Let’s be honest, using social media as a marketing tool is about getting sales. If you aren’t using it effectively, then you’re wasting your time. Knowing the strengths and weakness of each platform, what type of content works best, and how to leverage it, is critical in meeting your goals. You also need an actual strategy for converting leads into paying clients or customers. Without it, you are eliminating a form of hope marketing – hoping that your audience will do what you want them to do even though you didn’t get them clear direction.

Using Facebook Live

If you believe that your social media content should be fresh, unique, and authentic (spoiler alert—yes, you should believe this), and you are not taking advantage of Facebook Live, then you’re missing out. Live broadcasts can increase your brand awareness, highlight the elements of your products and services, and drive traffic to your page.

Video

The trend toward using video is not new. Neither are the challenges of incorporating video into your social media strategy. It’s important that your team understands your video strategy and how to keep it consistent with your brand.

Keeping yourself and your team up to date on the trends and issues driving social media success offers a great deal of value. You’ll help your team stay interested and excited, you’ll improve engagement with your social media followers and, with any luck, you’ll increase sales.

#HiretheExpert – What to Expect from a Social Media Trainer?

If you have embraced social media as a sales tool, then you know that it’s easy to get started but not quite so easy to be effective. Without a thoughtful, focused approach that incorporates social media into your sales and marketing strategy, you can expend valuable resources without a lot of return. To avoid this trap, professional social media training for your team is a surefire approach.

Before you start to look for a specific training program, think about the type of training that will work best for you and your team. Time constraints, the learning style, and the resources you have available are all factors in determining what type of training will be best for your business. Online training, in person, or via teleconference are all viable options. Should the training be one-on-one or group? Should the training touch everyone in your organization or a select group?

Now that you know what type of training you are looking for, you can begin to zero in on finding the trainer that can help you meet your goals. Here are five tips to help you choose a trainer that will meet your expectations and leave your team wanting more:

  1. Look for a trainer who is experienced in both training and implementation. Be sure to get a program that uses real-world examples and provides your team with key ideas and takeaways they can be put into action right away.
  2. Choose a program that provides both basic and advanced skills. Since your team includes a mix of learning styles, levels of expertise, and technical capabilities, you need a curriculum that will bring beginners up to speed quickly while challenging more advanced participants.
  3. Be sure to hit all the platforms. You use a variety of social media platforms so your trainer should offer skills that can be effectively used in each of them.
  4. Keep the focus on learning rather than selling a tool. It may take a little homework on your part, but you want to make sure that your trainer’s number one priority is on helping your team become adept at using social media, not on selling a tool for managing platforms.
  5. Look for strategy as well as “how-tos.” While you want the training to leave your team with practical knowledge, you also want the training to show them how social media fits into an overall sales and marketing strategy.

The right social media training will help your team handle the important job of being the face of your business on these ever-changing platforms. As a bonus, your employees will be more confident, and more productive. That’s not just good for them; it’s good for your business.
